TRS is committed to making the process of determining the correct binder for your project and ensuring that the project is exactly as ordered. To assist in that process we have listed below the artwork requirements for your designer and the requirements for receiving samples and color swatches. If you have any questions please call us at 800.223.3022.
We accept vector art in any of the following programs: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Quark XPress, PhotoShop . All art must be accompanied by a pdf version as well to ensure that files import correctly.
Make sure to include all fonts (or convert to outline), images, and graphic elements with the file. Graphic images must be 300 dpi to provide the best quality print.
Silk Screen Art
When designing for silk screen binders, the process is somewhat different from offset printing. Please create a separate layer for each PMS color and include crop marks. Avoid use of extremely fine lines and fonts below 10 point. Screens/Tints should be kept between the 20% and 80% range as outside that range it is likely to fill or break up.
Due to the fact that many projects are printing on a colored background, avoid printing weaker colors like red, yellow ,some oranges and many halftones of colors on dark materials (black, navy, charcoal). Bleed art should be reviewed and may incur a slight upcharge.

Full Pre-Production Sample
At quantities over 750 units, this is complimentary when requested. Many agencies are making final presentations and need proto-types for marketing or advertising clientele. A full sample puts every one’s mind at rest and allows clients to focus on the rest of the project while we make your binders and packaging materials!
Samples & Proofs
It is a giant leap of faith to entrust your corporate identity to a vendor. Three Ring Systems is committed to making this process as easy as possible for our new clients. Our proofing policy sets us apart from other suppliers in that it is very client focused and attempts to answer all questions on the front end of the order.
Sometimes it is difficult to imagine the effect of a material from a small swatch. On receipt of order, we will be happy to send a large swatch of material so that the client can review prior to the full production run.
Color Swatch Proof
If there is any doubt whatsoever about how your ink selection will look on the material you have chosen, we will run a hit of the ink color on the material so that you can be sure you love the combination you have chosen.
Vinyl Swatch Proof
If there is any question at all about how a client’s art will work on a certain material, we will run a vinyl swatch proof with your art and ink on the material. This provides that extra piece of mind that many people are looking for prior to production.
